A massive 45-foot tall, 7-foot wide, 4-foot deep brick chimney was separating from the house — 2 inches of gap at the top. The original footing was only 8x8 inches and 36 inches deep, causing the entire structure to settle and lean. Ten contractors, all specialists, told the homeowner it had to come down. - Saw-cut a precise line across the footing to set the steel beam with Grade 8, 12-inch by 3/4-inch anchors in adhesive
